WALESKA, Ga. –
Carley Tepel scored four goals for No. 11 (IWLCA Division II Top 25 Poll) Flagler College in a 16-5 win over No. 6 (NAIA) Reinhardt University this afternoon at Ken White Field.
Flagler advanced its winning streak to five games and improved to 7-4 overall for the season. Reinhardt drops to 6-5. Flagler will be on the road once again to face Anderson University on Thursday at 4 p.m.
Lawna Henry was the first to light up the score board in favor of the Eagles scoring the first goal of the game. The Saints fired back with eight consecutive goals to finish out the quarter, bringing them to an 8-1 lead.
Flagler continued the momentum with 10 different Saints finding the back of the net.
Sydney Onega,
Izzy Campos, and
Caroline Daziel all stood out with two goals apiece.
The Saints managed to hold the Eagles to just a goal in each quarter up until the end of the fourth when Marissa Davis and Lainey Byrne scored back-to-back goals for the Eagles.
Although they were out-scored in the end, Eagles' goalie Madison Hasty stood out with 12 saves.
The Saints defense complimented their high-scoring attack with
Carly LaFerriere causing three turnovers and picking up two groundballs.
Tegan Hoover also picked up two groundballs and caused two turnovers.
Greta McGinnis and
Kylie Nelson led the Saints with three draw controls each.
Three goalies saw the field for the Saints.
Lauren Ribadeneira made two saves,
Dakota Capolino made two saves, and
Grace Schwab added one.
