ORLANDO, Fla. - The Flagler College women's track and field team sent their distance athletes to compete at the University of Central Florida Black & Gold Challenge this evening at the UCF Track & Field Complex.

The Saints faced off against an abundance of power five schools such as Clemson University, the University of Kentucky, the University of Maryland, and the University of Central Florida while competing in the 1,500 meter run, the 5,000 meter run and the 10,000 meter run.

In her only race of the day, Enola Savel was the lone Saint to find the podium in the 10k. Placing third overall, Savel finished in a time of 37:31.46, 30 seconds faster than the fourth place finisher. In the 5k, the Saints had two finishers in the top 10 - Abby Misch and Chloe Smith. Placing fifth out of 36 runners, Misch crossed the line in 17:43.70, trailing only Division I runners. Smith finished 10th in 17:56.35, joining Misch as the the only Division II runners to finish in the top ten. A stacked pool of 73 runners competing in the 1500m saw Zoie Marchant finish at 39 in 4:47.59.
