WINTER PARK, Fla. –
Tyler Douglass scored four goals to help lead No. 17 (USILA Division II Top 20) Flagler College to a 13-6 win over No. 7 Rollins College in a non-conference men's lacrosse game against this evening at Barker Family Stadium.
The Saints improve to 5-1 for the season and the Tars drop to 3-2. The Saints will return on Tuesday at 1 p.m. to face Barton College at the Flagler Lacrosse Field. Flagler has won four games in a row and three of those have come against nationally-ranked competition.
The Saints lead the first quarter 7-2 and continued to dominate, scoring two unanswered goals from Douglas in the second quarter, bringing it to 9-2 to end the first half.
The Tars attempted to close the gap with Sam Mattson scoring a man-up goal in the third quarter and holding the Saints to just four goals in the second half.
Despite being outscored, Lake Baker stood out for the Tars with 13 faceoff wins, and Tars goalie Bradley Peterson made seven saves.
Gordon Ogden led the Saints defense with six groundballs.
Matt Mitrega won nine faceoffs. Saints goalie
Josh Stevens stood out with 11 saves and
Wade Lamon tacked on six, respectably.
Luke Burton added two goals and two assists.
