GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Approaching the climactic finish of the 2025 indoor season, the Flagler College women's indoor tack and field team sent their final squad to the Celebration Pointe Indoor Classic Friday morning.
Resting a core group of the women, the Saints still prevailed against top-tier talent from schools like the University of Florida and Florida Atlantic University.Â
Posting her best run of the 2025 season, junior
Abby Misch placed seventh in a pool of 46 runners for her 800 meter race. Misch ran the fastest 800 of the season for herself, coming in at 2:15. The mid-distance squad kept things rolling with Zoie Merchant pulling in a 5:12.45 in her first collegiate mile, placing her 16th overall.
In the 3000 meter race,
Chloe Smith led the charge for the Saints. With her time of 10:38.33, Smith reeled in 13th place in her first 3K of the season.
Freshman
Tessa Thompson continues to spearhead the 400 meter dash for the Saints. Posting a new personal best each time she raced, Thompson clocked in a new best at 1:03.64. Another sprinter in
Zoe Zinnie had a good day in the office. Competing in the 60 meter hurdles, Zinnie narrowly missed her personal best by .01 of a second, finishing with a 9.92.
Next week the Saints will cap off their indoor season at the Peach Belt Conference Championship on Feb. 17.
