LAKELAND, Fla.- Flagler College suffered a 10-8 loss to Florida Southern College in a non-conference women's lacrosse game this evening at Berend Field.

The Saints dropped to 1-1 while the Mocs won their season opener. Up next for Flagler is its home opener on Feb. 15 at 3 p.m. at the Flagler Lacrosse Field.

Carley Tepel,
Ella Pinder, and
Ava Lambros scored two goals each to lead the Saints.

The Mocs started to pull away from the start of the game, ending the first quarter 3-2. Abby McFerrin scored on a free-position shot with 2:!4 left in the opening quarter that gave Florida Southern a lead it would not relinquish.
The two teams fired back and forth with the Mocs maintaining their lead the rest of the game, with Giana Murphy leading with three goals.

The Saints held the Mocs to only one goal in the fourth quarter.

Saints goalie Lauren Ribadeniera made four saves.

Mocs goalie Rylie Rittberg made seven saves.
