BOCA RATON, Fla. –
Claudia Tanksley led No. 11 (IWLCA Division II Top 25 Poll) Flagler College with four goals and an assist but it wasn't enough as No. 13 Lynn University came away with a 12-8 win this evening in a non-conference women's lacrosse game at Bobby Campbell Stadium.
The Saints drop to 1-3 for the season. The Fighting Knights improve to 3-0. The Saints will return home to face Palm Beach Atlantic University on March 1 at 2 p.m.
The two teams started out with a low scoring first quarter. Flagler held off Lynn until the last five minutes of the quarter when Elizabeth Clagett scored two goals in a row to create a 2-0 lead for Lynn.
Clagett went on to lead the Fighting Knights with four goals and had an assist. Rebecca Clark added three goals and an assist.
Lynn held on to their lead the rest of the game. Flagler managed to score a game high of five goals in the final quarter, with
Sydney Onega and Tanksley scoring the last goals of the game.
Flagler's defense stood out tonight with goalie Lauren Ribadeniera making a season-high of 14 saves and collecting two ground balls.
Ella Pinder won three draws and caused a turnover as well.
Lynn goalie Ava Cegilia made five saves.
