Sharale McCormick scored a game-high 20 points and fellow senior
Destiny McClendon added 16 more as Flagler College rolled to a 75-57 win over USC Beaufort in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game this afternoon at Flagler Gymnasium on "Senior Day."
Before the game, the careers of McCormick, McClendon,
Dane Bertolina, and
Se'Lah Reddick were honored.
Flagler has won four in a row to improve to 12-13 overall and 8-8 in the Peach Belt. USC Beaufort dropped to 6-18 overall and 4-12 in conference play. Up next for the Saints is Lander University on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Greenwood, South Carolina.
Flagler never trailed in the game and the score was tied for only one minute and two seconds.
The Saints got off the blocks quickly with a 15-5 run to open the game. Flagler's lead would swell to as many as 22 points late in the fourth quarter.
Reddick added five points, 10 rebounds, and tallied six assists and Bertolina chipped in with six points.
Carleigh Grimm supplied eight points, a game-high 11 rebounds, and she blocked two shots.
Brianna Pelote led the Sand Sharks with 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Brielle Bartlet added 12 points while Lydia Gattozzi tacked on 10 more.
USC Beaufort was limited to 33.9 percent shooting from the field and it missed all 10 shots from 3-point range.
