COCHRAN, Ga. –
Melvin Teal scored nine of his team high 13 points in the second half in Flagler College's 62-51 loss at Middle Georgia State University in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball Tuesday evening at Morris Gym.
Flagler fell to 6-4 overall and 3-2 in the Peach Belt. Middle Georgia, who is playing in its first season in the PBC, snapped a five-game losing streak and improved to 5-7 overall and 1-4 in league play. Up next for the Saints is the Bahama House Shootout, which begins Friday at Daytona Beach, Florida. Flagler takes on Newberry College at 5 p.m. at the ICI Center.
The Saints were held to a season-low 29.6 percent shooting from the field and made just 25 percent of their shots in the first half alone. The Knights also had its offensive struggles in the first half shooting just 26.7 percent.
After a
Hoku Fisher basket cut the Saints deficit to four (33-29) with 15:55 left to go in the game, the Knights went on a 14-3 run over the next 4:12 to take a commanding 47-32 lead.
Camden Andrews and
Jordan Smith each added 10 points for Flagler.
Tymoteusz Pszczola grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. The Saints forced eight Knights turnovers and converted those into 18 points.
OT Delancy led Middle Georgia with 13 points and seven rebounds while Joshua Robertson supplied 13 points. Krishen Atwal contributed 12 points and eight rebounds.
