DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –
Jordan Smith led a balanced Flagler College scoring attack with 15 points in an 81-55 rout over the University of Fort Lauderdale at the Bahama House Shootout Saturday afternoon at the ICI Center.
Flagler has won five-of-its-last-six games to improve to 8-4 overall. Fort Lauderdale, a member of the USCAA, dropped to 6-8. The Saints will break for the holidays and return on Jan. 3 to face No. 11 (NABC Division II Top 25) University of North Georgia at 3:30 p.m.
The Saints trailed the Eagles 14-11 with 12:27 to go in the first half.
Rahdir Hicks ignited a 17-2 run by Flagler that covered the next 4:12 and the Saints maintained a double-digit lead the remainder of the game.
Flagler took a 41-30 lead into the half.
Smith added a team-high nine rebounds to his line for Flagler.
Camden Andrews finished with 13 points and tallied a team-high six assists while
Hoku Fisher contributed 10 points.
Flagler tallied a season-best 23 assists on 33 made field goals. The Saints scored 21 points off 11 Eagle turnovers. Flagler shot a season-best 52.4 percent (33-63) from the field and the 14 three-pointers made and 48.3 percent shooting (14-29) from long range were season highs.
Vugar Kuliev and Corey Pope each scored 11 points for Fort Lauderdale. Pope grabbed a team high eight rebounds.
