Cassidy Bloom recorded a team-high 10 kills as Flagler College swept Edward Waters University this afternoon 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-16) in a non-conference volleyball match at the Adams-Jenkins Community Sports & Music Complex.
The Saints extended their winning streak to three and improved to 7-9. The Tigers drop to 2-7. The Saints will return to action tomorrow where they will face Peach Belt Conference opponent Middle Georgia State University at Macon, Georgia.
Flagler had a balanced offense attack.
Clare Sheedy had eight kills and a match-high 25 assists. On the attack, Sheedy had the highest hitting percentage of any player with more than one kill at .438.
Marley Middlebrooks,
Meredith Dixon, and
Katherine Rank each finished with seven kills. Middlebrooks had a match high 10 digs.
Amelia Fitzpatrick and
Caity Clancy collected eight dig apiece and
Bella Schwantz served up three aces.
Naomy Vergez was the face of the Tigers as she had a match high 11 kills and tied a match high 10 digs. Norah Laurore and Autumn James nearly split the Tigers' assists with 15 and 13, respectively. The Tigers had 10.0 total team blocks and was led by Skylar Fick's five total blocks. Zakiyyah Abdul and Jewel Helmuth each had four.
