Saints win their fourth consecutive match

MACON, Ga. - Clare Sheedy's 54 assists led the Flagler College to a 3-1 (25-22, 27-29, 25-18, 25-16) victory over Middle Georgia State University in a Peach Belt Conference women's volleyball match this evening at the Volleyball Gym.

Flagler extended its winning streak to four matches and improved to 8-9 overall and 2-0 in the Peach Belt. Middle Georgia lost its fourth match in a row and dropped to 4-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play. The Saints will wrap up their road trip with Augusta University tomorrow at 3 p.m.

For the second time this season, Sheedy put up 50+ assists, five shy of her career record. Sheedy also found success with a match high four aces. Marley Middlebrooks finished with a double-double as she recorded a match-high 20 kills and added 12 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Cassidy Bloom added 14 kills and eight digs while Katherine Rank supplied 12 kills and three total blocks. A quiet offensive match for Gracie Fleming turned into another defensive standout. For the fourth time this season, she had five or more blocks, finishing the match with six. Bella Schwantz had a career high 25 digs.

Caitlyn Wolf led the Knights offense with 15 kills. Ellison Johnson had a team high 20 assists and 15 digs. She was two kills away from a triple-double. Yanelis Rodriguez added 13 digs while leading the Knights in aces with two.
