Marley Middlebrooks and
Cassidy Bloom combined on 30 of Flagler College's 45 kills in a sweep of the University of South Carolina Aiken (25-10, 25-23, 25-22) in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball opener Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center.
The Saints improved to 6-9 overall while the Pacers dropped to 5-6. Flagler will travel to Edward Waters University on Oct. 4 for its next match.
Middlebrooks remained the face of the Saints offense for the second day in a row after putting up a match high 16 kills. She was one dig shy of a double-double. Bloom added 14 kills and hit .440 with only three errors on 25 swings.
Clare Sheedy had a match high 35 assists and a season high four aces.

Bridey Potter each had two total blocks.
Bella Schwantz had a match high 17 digs. For the second time this season, the Saints defense held their opponent to single digit kills.
Anna Sommer led the Pacers in kills with eight while Alli Bishop came in close second with seven. Sidney Hogan had a team high 19 assists and the only aces of the match for USCA. In digs, Kira Bostick led the Pacers with 10.
