INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Flagler College men's soccer team is one of 12 teams listed in the first of three NCAA Division II Super Region 2 rankings, which was released Wednesday afternoon.

The first poll is listed alphabetically, but the next two will be ranked Nos. 1-12.

Flagler (9-2-5 overall, 9-2-5 in-region record) is one of two Peach Belt Conference teams ranked in the top 12. The University of North Georgia (9-3-4, 9-3-4) finds itself on the initial ranking.

Other teams listed are Anderson University (8-0-4, 8-0-4), Chowan University (8-3-3, 8-3-3), Florida Tech (7-1-6, 7-1-6), Lynn University (9-2-1, 9-2-1), Nova Southeastern University (7-2-3, 7-2-3), Palm Beach Atlantic University (11-0-1, 11-0-1), Rollins College (7-3-4, 7-3-4), the University of Tampa (6-3-4, 6-3-4), the University of West Florida (8-1-4, 8-1-4), and Young Harris College (10-1-3, 10-1-3).

The Saints' overall strength of schedule is .489, which is 41st in the region. Flagler's D2 Performance Indicator, which is a system that assigns numerical values to game results depending on the site and quality of the opponent, is 16.125. That number is 17th in the region. The national tournament selection criteria are based on, in no particular order: in-region winning percentage, D2 winning percentage, D2 strength of schedule, D2 head-to-head competition, and results vs. common D2 opposition.

The NCAA regional rankings are the official rankings used by the committee to select the national tournament field. The field will be comprised of 40 teams, and the Super Region 2 will have 10 teams. However, two more polls are to be announced until the official release of the 40-team field on Monday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. Eastern.
