Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Two first half goals enough for Flagler to blank Saint Leo

ST. AUGUSTINE – Hugues Iguaran scored an unassisted goal in the 10th minute and that would be all Flagler College would need in a 2-0 win over Saint Leo University in a non-conference men's soccer match on "Senior Day" Saturday night at Saints Field.

Flagler improved to 9-2-5 overall while Saint Leo dropped to 3-6-4. The Saints return to conference play on Wednesday when they travel to face USC Aiken at 4 p.m.

Prior to the start of the match, the Saints honored its seniors: Alberto Ontiveros, Ian Garzon, Gustav Moberg, Reiss Skeen, River Beeman, and Jesse van Krimpen.

Iguaran was at the right place at the right time as a bad clear by a Saint Leo player went right to him about 30 yards away. A quick dribble followed by a laser shot to the right corner gave the Saints a 1-0 lead.

In the 36th minute, Tim Wahlborg knocked in a pass from Alex Alexandrou to increase the lead to 2-0.

Ryan Rivas turned in his sixth clean sheet of the season as he finished with four saves. Pablo Bas Colomer collected one save for the Lions.

Flagler out-shot Saint Leo 10-7 but the Lions held a 10-4 advantage in corner kicks. Each team was whistled for 14 fouls.
