GREENWOOD, S.C. –
Luke Williams and
Hugues Iguaran both scored goals early in the first half to help Flagler College defeat Lander University 2-1 in a Peach Belt Conference men's soccer match Wednesday afternoon at Van Taylor Stadium.
Flagler extends its unbeaten streak to three matches and improved to 7-2-4 overall and 4-1-3 in the Peach Belt. Lander had its three-match unbeaten streak snapped and fell to 3-2-6 overall and 2-2-3 in conference play. The Saints remain on the road and will visit Middle Georgia State University for the first time on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
In the 22
nd minute, off a goal kick, Flagler gained control and worked the ball along the left sideline.
Finn Weigelt threaded a through ball over to Iguaran who was just inside the top of the box. Iguaran steadied the ball and, with his left foot, rifled a shot inside the right post for his first career goal.

Flagler keeper
Ryan Rivas made a pivotal save on a penalty attempt by Christian Hatley in the 42
nd minute.
Giacomo Sartori got the Bearcats on the board in the 69
th minute.
Rivas recorded four saves for the Saints while Conrad Knight tallied four for the Bearcats.
Lander out-shot Flagler 24-14 with Hatley, Callum Stokes, and Ryosuke Tanaka leading the way with four shots apiece. Williams led the Saints with three shots. The Bearcats held a 14-3 advantage in corner kicks while Flagler led in fouls with 12 as Lander was whistled for eight.
