Saints wrap up play at the Copperhead Championship

INNISBROOK, Fla. – The Flagler College men's golf team finished in 17th place with a 63-over par 915 (303-303-308) at the Copperhead Championship which concluded today at the Innisbrook Golf Resort (par 71; 7,209 yards).

Flagler wraps up the fall season at the Citrus Intercollegiate, Oct. 27-28.

The host school, University of West Florida, topped the 17-team field with an 11-under 841 (279-280-282). Finishing in a distant second place was Grand Valley State University with an even par 852 (287-283-282). Lee University finished in third place at 2-over while Wingate University followed in fourth place at 9-over. Nova Southeastern University rounded out the top five at 18-over.

Per Ekelund of West Florida jumped up 11 spots, thanks to a 5-under 66 in the final round, to finish atop the 89-man field with a 5-under 208 (71-71-66). There was a three-way tie for second place at 4-under.

Masen McKain led the Saints with an 11-over 224 (75-71-78) and finished in a tie for 48th place. PJ Herron finished in a tie for 53rd place with a 13-over 226 (79-73-74). Dylan Mason (+15) and Lucas Escudero (+29) rounded out the Flagler golfers. Nic Eberhard shot a 6-over 77 in the first round but had to withdraw from the last two rounds.
