MORROW, Ga. – Flagler College had a 15-point lead midway through the fourth quarter and managed to withstand a rally for a 77-72 win over Clayton State University in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Saturday afternoon at The Loch and Mason Barfield Court.
Flagler improved to 7-8 overall and evened its Peach Belt record to 3-3. The Saints snapped a three-game losing streak at Morrow. Clayton State dropped to 5-11 overall and 2-4 in conference play. Flagler plays host to Columbus State University on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Flagler Gym.

Sharale McCormick put-back with 6:39 left gave the Saints a 71-56 lead. However, the Lakers would rally to make it a one possession game (75-72) thanks to a 16-4 run that was capped by a pair of free throws by Jadah White with three seconds remaining. McCormick sealed the victory for Flagler with a pair of free throws with one second on the clock.
McCormick scored a game-high 21 points and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line.
Destiny McClendon added 14 points while
Marley Smith tacked on 11 points and seven rebounds.
Jessica Dowdy finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Dane Bertolina provided eight points and three steals coming off the bench.
Flagler made 27-of-33 from the free throw line, including 15-of-18 in the second quarter alone.
White led the Lakers with 16 points while Sariya Henry scored 13 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and blocked two shots. Hannah Wright scored nine points.
Clayton State corralled 19 offensive rebounds that led to 24 points.
