DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Flagler women's tennis team wrapped up their weekend at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Open. The team competed at the Crotty Tennis Center where two Saints went undefeated in singles play while two doubles teams went 2-1.
In the Gold Flight bracket,
Eryka Kruk and
Anastasia Nikolova went undefeated in singles play. Kruk started her tournament off against Carla Cabero of ERAU who she defeated 6-2, 4-6, 1-0(11-9) and ended it against Martina Picardi of Southeastern University 7-6(7-0), 6-0.
Nikolova had her tournament start off with an impressive win against Olivia Lindestaf of Eckerd College 6-3, 6-1, while topping off day three with another win, defeating Isabella Boliva of Southeastern 6-4, 6-4.
Dana Heimen was the last Saint to compete in the Gold Flight, splitting her matches. In the Blue Flight,
Laura Jipescu and
Sofia Balsera both split their matches respectively.
Doubles saw Heimen and Nikolova perform the best for Flagler, going 2-1 over the tournament. Jipescu and Kruk also went 2-1 individually. Starting off together for their first win, the two split from each other to form their new doubles teams, both mixing with Kattie Valdez and Balsera.
The Saints take a week break before heading to the ITA Regionals in Sumter, South Carolina from Sept. 27-29.
