AMERICUS, Ga. – No. 11 (Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Division II Top 25) Flagler College cruised to a 7-0 victory over Georgia Southwestern State University in a Peach Belt Conference women's tennis match Friday afternoon at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex.
Flagler improved to 9-3 overall and 2-1 in the Peach Belt. Georgia Southwestern dropped to 3-8 overall and 0-4 in conference play. The Saints travel to face No. 15 Columbus State University on Sunday at 10 a.m.
The Saints won all three doubles matches 6-0.
Nadja Meier and
Dana Heimen, ranked No. 6 nationally, clinched the doubles point at No. 1.
Leonie Floeth and
Eryka Kruk won the first doubles match at No. 3.
Meier, ranked No. 2 in singles, won 6-0 and 6-0 over Melissa Duarte.
Toni Pfeiffer and Kruk added wins as well with Kruk's being the match clincher. Pfeiffer won her ninth match in a row.
Charlotta Buss, Heimen, and Floeth all won in straight sets.
