AIKEN, S.C. –
Destin Clark scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed five rebounds to go along with three assists but Flagler College lost to No. 20 (NABC Division II Top 25) University of North Georgia 70-60 in the Peach Belt Conference Men's Basketball Tournament championship game Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center.
North Georgia, the No. 2-seed, improved to 25-6 and earned the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional. Flagler is now 20-11 and will have to wait and see if it receives one of the five at-large bids. The 64-team field will be revealed on ncaa.com on Sunday at 11 p.m. Eastern.
The Nighthawks scored the last basket of the first half to take a 30-29 lead into the locker rooms. They scored the first eight points of the second half and fended off a couple of runs by the Saints.

Mason Manning jumper got Flagler to within three (49-46) with 7:18 left in the game, but the Saints could not get any closer.
Jax Bouknight added 15 points, four rebounds, and three assists for Flagler.
Jalen Barr grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
The Saints were held to a season-low 29.2 field goal percentage.
Frank Champion led North Georgia with 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Giancarlo Bastianoni added 13 points while Cayden Charles tacked on 10 points, seven rebounds, and he had five blocked shots.
The Nighthawks shot 53.2 percent from the field.
