ST. AUGUSTINE – No. 6 (Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Division II Top 25) Flagler College won its third consecutive match with a 5-2 victory over Ferris State University in a non-conference women's tennis match at the Pollard Tennis Center.
Flagler improved to 3-2 and Ferris State dropped to 3-5. The Saints host Valdosta State University tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Pollard Tennis Center.
The Saints took the first two doubles matches to win the first team point. No. 7-ranked
Dana Heimen and
Nadja Meier blanked Ana Hernandez Ferrer and Morgan Waller, 6-0.
Charlotta Buss and
Leonie Floeth downed Parker Nolan and Amelia Laverdiere, 6-4.
In single play, No. 2-ranked Meier cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win. Buss won her match 6-0, 6-3 and Heimen followed with a 6-3, 6-3 win to give Flagler a 4-0 lead.
Eryka Kruk posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5. Kruk is on a six-match winning streak.
