ST AUGUSTINE –
Logan Tobias scored three goals in Flagler College's season-opening 9-8 win over Lynn University in a non-conference men's lacrosse game this afternoon at the Flagler Lacrosse Field.
Griffin Moore scored the game-winning goal with just 55 seconds remaining.
The Fighting Knights started out strong with a 4-2 lead for the first quarter. Brian Hoskins led the Fighting Knights on the offensive front scoring three goals.
The Saints came back in the second quarter scoring two unanswered goals from Tyler Douglas and Tobias to cut the deficit to 5-4 at the end of the half.
The Saints continued to close the gap in the second half. Flagler scored four more goals to take an 8-5 lead after
Dylan Wilson fired a shot into the net with 6:08 to go in regulation.
Lynn scored three more goals to tie the game at 8-all. Connor Houston tied the game with 4:06 left on the clock.
Despite falling short in the end, the Fighting Knights goalie Tristan Lenard had a stellar performance with 19 saves.
The Saints defense performed well also with goalie
Nate Lehr making 14 saves.
The Saints will return Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. in a home matchup against the University of Tampa.
