ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College unleashed a 24-hit attack in a 25-6 romp over American International College in a non-conference baseball game Saturday afternoon at Drysdale Field.
Flagler won its fifth game in a row to improve to 5-8. AIC dropped to 1-5. The same two teams meet on Sunday at 11 a.m.
The Saints trailed 4-3 after three innings played, but they went on a barrage that included an 11-run seventh inning.
Mason Gray went 4-for-7 with a home run and a double. He finished with six runs batted in and scored three runs.
Trey Newland went 5-for-5 with a triple, four runs scored and two RBI.
Jesse Sullivan scored four runs.
Cooper Smith (2-1) picked up the win after allowing six runs on eight hits in 5.1 innings.
Jackson Haker led the Yellow Jackets with a pair of home runs and four runs batted in.
Kaden Patterson (0-2) started and took the loss for AIC. He allowed six runs on seven hits in 3.1 innings pitched.
