McCormick pours in 21 points for Saints on Saturday

ST. AUGUSTINE- Sharale McCormick scored a season-high 21 points for Flagler College in its 67-59 loss against Florida Tech in a non-conference women's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Flagler Gym.
 
Flagler drops to 1-3 while Florida Tech advances to 2-1 for the season. The Saints will hit the road for their next game to play another Sunshine State Conference team, Saint Leo University, on Nov. 19 at 5 p.m.
 
McCormick made 7-of-12 field goals, including three from long-range, and made 4-of-6 from the free throw line. She added six rebounds to her line. Destiny McClendon finished with 16 points to help the Saints. She was a perfect three-for-three from the charity stripe. Se'Lah Reddick tacked on seven points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Marley Smith came off the bench to add six points and six rebounds. Laney Noreika tied her career high with nine rebounds.
 
Sarah Liberatore lead the Panthers with 21 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Mikayla Morin added a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Breazia Robinson chipped in with 10 points. Kyandra Poitier grabbed nine rebounds.
 
After a McClendon layup gave Flagler an early 10-8 lead with 3:06 left in the first quarter, Florida Tech scored 12 unanswered points in the next 3:34 to take a 20-10 lead. Emily Acampora's three-pointer ignited the run. The Panthers never trailed again.

Florida Tech shot 40.7 percent (22-54) from the field and finished the game shooting at a 54.5 percent (6-11) clip in the fourth quarter alone. Flagler shot 31.1 percent (19-61) from the field, but shot 53.8 percent (7-13) in the fourth quarter.
