Molly Boyd recorded a career high 21 kills and hit .500 while
Clare Sheedy had a double-double with 45 assists and 17 digs, both season highs, in Flagler College's 3-2 (25-20, 28-30, 25-23, 18-25, 4-15) at Wingate University Friday evening at Cuddy Arena.
Flagler fell to 5-7 on the season and Wingate improved to 12-2.
The Saints led 2-1 after three sets, but the Bulldogs claimed the fourth set to square the match. Wingate opened on a 3-0 run and neer looked back. The Bulldogs hit .318 with 18 kills and had four errors on 44 swings. Emily Johnson posted five kills and hit .571 while Elsa Lamphere added five kills. Flagler was limited to a .140 hitting percentage. Boyd,

Cassidy Bloom each had three kills.
Boyd's kill early in the fifth set tied the score at 1-all, but the Bulldogs rolled to a 15-4 win. Wingate hit a blistering .643 with nine kills on 14 errorless swings. Lorna Stacherski was perfect with six kills in as many swings.
The first set was in favor of the Saints, 25-20. The Saints took the 4-3 lead on the first of two service aces from
Amelia Fitzpatrick in the set. Boyd had four kills on five errorless swings for an .800 hitting percentage.
The second set was a marathon that included 17 ties and eight lead changes as the Bulldogs prevailed 30-28. The Saints took a 28-27 lead due to a setting error by the Bulldogs, but Wingate scored the next three points. Boyd had six kills and Berglin followed with five more. Maya Van Heyst paced the Bulldogs with seven assists and seven digs. Maddie Hoffman collected nine digs.
The third set had 13 ties and six lead changes. With the score tied at 23, Boyd finished the set with a pair of kills. She finished with six kills in that set and hit .625. Sheedy tallied 10 assists against her former school.
Berglin tallied 13 kills and added 17 digs for her second double-double of the season. Bloom finished with a career high11 kills. She also tallied 15 digs, also a career high, for her first double-double.
Lexi Basler added 14 digs.
Colby Stempkowski was a force to be reckoned with at the net for the Saints tallying seven total blocks to lead the squad.
Meredith Dixon finished with four total blocks.
Stacherski recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 13 digs for Wingate. Johnson added 14 kills and four total blocks while Lamphere finished with 10 kills and 16 digs. Gabby Saye tacked on 11 kills. Van Heyst notched a double-double with 34 assists and 17 digs. Hoffman collected a match-high 25 digs.
The Saints are back in action Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Valdosta State University. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
