ST. AUGUSTINE –
Andrea Fernandez scored four goals and tallied four assists,
Cisel Akguel added four goals and one assist, and
Paige Churchill tacked on three goals and three assists in Flagler College's 16-0 rout of Albany State University in a Peach Belt Conference women's soccer match Saturday afternoon at Saints Field.
Before the match, the Saints honored their four seniors:
Madi Wright,
Lirios Rizo,
Samantha St. Pierre, and Fernandez.
Flagler improved to 6-2-5 overall and 4-2-3 in the Peach Belt. Albany State falls to 1-14-0 overall and 0-8-0 in league play. The Saints play their regular season finale Nov. 2 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at Daytona Beach at 7 p.m.
Fernandez tied the program's record for goals in a match and assists in a match. Flagler broke single-match records for goals, assists (16), and points (48).
Fernandez got the scoring barrage going as she headed in a cross from
Presley Ancheta in the second minute. Akguel scored the next two goals as the Saints would finish with seven in the first half.
St. Pierre scored two goals and tallied three assists.
Candice Deschamps scored the first two goals of her collegiate career.
Analena Jacob added a goal and two assists.
Wright made her first start in goal for the Saints and she turned in a clean sheet and had an assist.
Ava Droze collected nine saves for the Golden Rams. Reilley Bain and Jordyn Keene each took two shots.
Flagler out-shot Albany State 49-4 and had a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
