ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College and Florida Tech played a scoreless second half to complete a non-conference women's soccer match that was suspended on Sept. 12 due to darkness. The match was finally resumed this evening at Saints Field and the final result was 2-2.
 
This brings Flagler to 5-2-5 for the season and Florida Tech sits at 7-2-2. The Saints will play again on Saturday (Oct. 26) at 3 p.m. in a Peach Belt Conference match against Albany State University. The Saints will also be celebrating Senior Day.
 
Churchill was assisted by 
Cisel Akguel to put the Saints on the board in the fifth minute.
 
Daniela Tobon fired back a few minutes later, knocking in a rebound to put the Panthers on the board and tie the game at 1-1 in the ninth minute.
 
Andrea Fernandez scored off an assist from 
Samantha St. Pierre in the 19
th minute to bring the Saints over the edge. However, Sara Batchadji scored for the Panthers in the 37
th minute to tie up the match.
 
The Saints had their best shot to break the tie in the 80
th minute when Fernandez fired a shot that was saved and 
Analena Jacob's follow-up shot was also saved. The Panthers put six shots on frame in the second half.
Fernandez had five shots for the Saints, two of which were on goal. Batchadji led Florida with five shots and three were on frame.
 
Henley Grunst tallied eight saves for the Saints. Mette Brandes tallied one save in the first half and Kaitlin Sinkler recorded two in tonight's second half.
 
Florida Tech out-shot Flagler 23-8 and had a slight advantage of 8-7 on corner kicks.
