ST. AUGUSTINE –
Reiss Skeen,
Luke Williams, and
Marcus Hedemann each scored a goal and tallied an assist as Flagler College rolled to a 7-0 win over Lander University in a Peach Belt Conference men's soccer match Wednesday afternoon at Saints Field.
Flagler is now 8-3-1 overall and 5-2-0 in the conference. The seven goals scored was the most a Saints team has scored since Sept. 28, 2019 when Flagler beat Trinity Baptist College 8-1. Flagler also swept the season series for the first time and it was the most goals scored by the Saints against the Bearcats in the all-time history. Lander sits at 1-5-3 overall and 1-3-0 in the Peach Belt. The Saints will hit the road for their next game on Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. at the University of North Georgia.
Jackson Kirila got the onslaught started when he headed in a free kick from
Reiss Skeen in the 15
th minute.
Shortly after, in the 16
th minute,
Alex Alexandrou added another goal for the Saints with an assist from
Luke Williams. Williams went on to score his own goal off a pass from
Philip Jung on the end line in the 21
st minute.
Reiss Skeen,
Xavier Ryan,
Maddock Griffith and Hedemann all added goals for the Saints.
Ryan Rivas made three saves in goal for the Saints to record his sixth shutout of the season. Keanu Ridgill made two saves for the Bearcats and Juan Rodriguez finished with five.
Lander out-shot Flagler 13-9 and had an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
