ST. AUGUSTINE – 
Sharale McCormick scored a game-high 22 points but it wasn't enough as Flagler College succumbed to a late University of North Georgia rally in a 69-66 loss in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Flagler Gymnasium.
North Georgia improved to 9-3 overall and 2-0 in the Peach Belt. Flagler is now 5-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The Saints go back out on the road on Wednesday (Jan. 10) to face USC Aiken.
Flagler held a 64-62 lead with 3:38 left to go after a 
Destiny McClendon layup. That was the last field goal the Saints made. Flagler went 0-for-6 from the field the rest of the way while North Georgia made 2-of-5 from the field and sank both free throws.
Emily Trushel tied the game with her basket with 3:14 left and a Livi Blackstock three-pointer about two minutes later to put the Nighthawks ahead for good.
McClendon finished with 17 points for the Saints while 
Dane Bertolina added 11 points, a team-high eight rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots, and three steals. 
Se'Lah Reddick grabbed seven boards and tallied a team-high five assists.
Flagler held the largest lead in the game, 14 points (34-20), with 3:24 left in the second quarter. The Saints took a 36-27 lead into the half.
Blackstock came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points for North Georgia. Trushel recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
