AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College's
Jordan Berglin and
Brooke Singleton were named to the Peach Belt Conference 2023 volleyball Team of Academic Distinction, presented by Barnes & Nobles, according to a release this morning by conference officials.
To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee the program.
Berglin, a junior outside hitter, is a sport management major at Flagler. The Pewaukee, Wisconsin native completed the season with 276 kills, 180 digs, 54.0 total blocks and 14 service aces. This is her second academic all-conference honor and was recently named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® team for the second time. She earned first team all-conference selection for the third time and is a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar honoree. Last season she was named the PBC Tournament MVP and AVCA All-Southeast Region team, as well as receiving the D2 ADA award.
Singleton, a junior defensive specialist, is a sport management major at Flagler. The Kissimmee, Florida native played in 25 matches for the Saints and completed the season with 43 digs, 9 aces and 2 assists. This is her second academic all-conference honor. She is a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar and earned the D2 ADA award last season.
Flagler concluded the season with a 9-19 overall record and went 4-8 in the Peach Belt.
