ST. AUGUSTINE – The Flagler College men's golf team hosts the 13^th annual Jay Jennison Cup, which will be held at the World Golf Village's Slammer & Squire Course this Monday and Tuesday.

The Jay Jennison Cup returns to The Slammer & Squire, which has hosted the Jennison Cup five times (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2021). The Palencia Club has hosted the other years.

The Jennison Cup is named in honor of former men's golf coach Jay Jennison, who passed away July 9, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the head coach for the Saints in 2007-08 and for the fall '08 campaign. Jennison was the 17^th recipient of the J. Edward "Red" Cox Award, which is given to a person who has made a positive impact in athletics on the St. Augustine community.

Flagler is one of 13 institutions playing in the two-day, 54-hole tournament. The rest of the field consists of Christian Brothers University, Eckerd College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Lenoir-Rhyne University, Lynn University, The University of Montevallo, the University of Mount Olive, Newberry College, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Rollins College, Spring Hill College, and Wilmington University (Del.). Stetson University will send an individual.

Lenoir-Rhyne is looking to defend its title from last year when the Bears won by four strokes with a 6-over par 870 at The Palencia. Mount Olive finished in second place. Will Locey of Belmont Abbey College earned medalist honors with a 2-under 214. Three golfers finished one shot back.

On Monday, the teams will play 36 holes and then play the final round on Tuesday. The first round begins on Monday at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. Par is 72 and the length of the course is 6,939 yards.     

Flagler has won the Jennison Cup twice (2013 and 2014).
