PENSACOLA, Fla. –
Colby Stempkowski hit an efficient .500 with 18 kills on 30 swings and she added 10 total blocks as Flagler College split a pair of volleyball matches Saturday afternoon to conclude the Walk-On's UWF Invitational at the UWF Fieldhouse.
Flagler lost to Spring Hill College 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 16-25, 22-25), but swept the University of Charleston (25-17, 25-15, 25-22). The Saints are now 2-9 this season.
Jordan Berglin paced Flagler in the second match. She finished with a match-high 11 kills and seven digs. Berglin hit a season-best .350.
Audrey Simmons added eight kills while Stempkowski recorded seven kills and hit .700 as she had 10 errorless swings. She also collected eight total blocks.
Cameron Fenner tallied 14 assists, collected four digs, and had one kill.
Amelia Fitzpatrick had 13 assists and two aces.
Dani Russo led the way with four aces.
Flagler hit .478 in the first set alone and finished the game with a .333 percentage.
Patrycja Majos led the Golden Eagles with 10 kills and she hit .500. Suzan Agterberg tallied 13 assists and Chloe Fortner collected eight digs.
In the first match against Spring Hill, Berglin recorded her second double-double of the season with 14 kills and 10 digs. Stempkowski added 11 kills and hit .400 with just three errors on 20 swings. Fitzpatrick recorded her first career double-double with 23 assists and 10 digs.
Edie Lamoreaux finished with a match-high 24 digs.
Lainee Mack added 14 assists.
Brooke Borgmeyer led the Badgers with a match-high 16 kills as she hit .419 with only three errors on 31 swings. Jaylyne Bell added 10 kills and four block assists. Mikayla Boyer collected 20 digs while Jessica Fairly had a double-double with 23 assists and 11 digs.
Flagler opens Peach Belt Conference play with a pair of matches at Augusta University. The first is Friday (Sept. 22) at 6 p.m. and then the same two teams meet on Saturday (Sept. 23) at 3 p.m. at the Christenberry Fieldhouse.
