ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- The Flagler College softball team dropped a pair of games in a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader against the Lander University Bearcats on Friday afternoon at Flagler Field.

In game two, the Saints (12-26, 7-13) started the scoring early in the first inning.

Abbey O'Connor and
Cassidy Crump each connected on a single to put runners at first and second base. A Bearcat error allowed
Mackenzie Smith to reach second base and O'Connor and Crump to score at 2-0. Smith advanced to third on a wild pitch before
Trinity Fry drew a walk.
Courtney Robinson hit a double that plated both Smith and Fry at 4-0.
Crump led the Saints in hits after going 6-for-8 on the day.

At the bottom of the second,
Paige Maseda's home run to left center made it 5-0.

Lander (21-12, 12-7) put up three runs in the third inning off a single to plate Naya Jones and Gracie Derrick. Another single allowed Abbie Behe to score. At the top of the seventh, Jones scored to put the Bearcats within one at 5-4. A triple allowed Jillian Terpenning and Rylee Omahen to score. Logan Coward added the last run off a single.

Jordan Sheets (7-9) pitched a complete game and was credited with the loss after giving up 14 hits and seven runs. The freshman had four strikeouts and induced four fly outs and 13 ground outs.

Bailey Pattison (8-4) earned the win after pitching all seven innings and gave up 8 hits. Pattison walked one batter and had six strikeouts.

In game one, the Saints lost 11-5.

Mackenzie Smith put Flagler on the board with a home to left field in the fourth inning at 4-1.

The Saints added two more runs in the fifth inning after Maseda scored off a Lander error.

Ari Bosch connected on her first home run of the season to plate Youngblood and conclude the Saints' scoring.

Rachel Hester (6-6) took the loss after five innings, giving up eight hits and eight runs. The sophomore walked one batter and had four strikeouts.

Lander put up their first four runs over the first and third inning at 4-0. The Bearcats added two more in the sixth off Behe and Derrick. A home run from Coward in the fifth inning made it 8-1. In the seventh inning, Behe, Allen and Shannon Antonini scored to make it 11-5.

Taylor Scott earned the win after pitching six innings and giving up eight hits and five runs.

The Saints will host Lander in a single game tomorrow, Friday, April 7.
