NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Flagler College women's lacrosse team cracked the top 10, at No. 10, in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Top 25 poll, which was released this afternoon.
Flagler (15-1 overall, 6-0 Gulf South) won the Gulf South Conference regular season outright with its 21-16 victory at Lander University last Saturday.
The top three from last week remain unchanged. West Chester University (15-0) is in the top spot again and received 17 first-place votes. Pace University (13-1) follows at No. 2 and received five first-place votes. The University of Tampa (15-2) held steady at No. 3. Florida Southern College (15-2) moved up one to No. 4 and the University of Indianapolis (15-2) also moved up one to No. 5.
Other teams from the South and Southeast Regions that are nationally ranked are: No. 8 Rollins College (15-2), No. 9 Wingate University (15-2), No. 14 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (13-4), No. 18 Lynn University (12-6), and No. 23 Saint Leo University (10-7).
Flagler hosts the GSC Tournament this week at the Flagler Lacrosse Field. The Saints play in the first semifinal on Friday at 11 a.m. against Lee University. The final is Sunday at noon.
