COLUMBUS, Ga. – The No. 5 (ITA Division II Collegiate Tennis Rankings) Flagler College women's tennis team coasted to a 4-0 win over Georgia Southwestern State University in a Peach Belt Conference Women's Tennis Tournament quarterfinal match at the John W. Walden Tennis Center Friday afternoon.
Flagler improved to 17-4 overall and advances to the semifinal round where it will play the host school, No. 30 Columbus State University, tomorrow at 3 p.m. Georgia Southwestern's season came to an end at 1-12.
The Saints turned in a pair of 6-0 matches in doubles to take the first point. The No. 24-ranked duo of
Luisa Hrda and
Dana Heimen clinched the doubles point while
Nadja Meier and
Florencia Massardo Brain finished just before.
Meier, ranked No. 6 in the nation, extended her streak to 25 matches with a 6-3, 6-0 win.
Charlotta Buss ran her record at No. 6 singles to 12-1 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Hrda, ranked No. 7 in the country, finished the match with a triumphant 6-1, 6-1 decision.
