MELBOURNE, Fla.- The Flagler College softball team lost both games in a non-conference doubleheader against the Florida Institute of Technology on Wednesday afternoon.

In game two, a seventh inning surge was not enough for the Saints (15-31).

At the top of the seventh,
Trinity Fry opened with a single to third base. Pinch runner,
Kiersten James, advanced to second off a single from
Jordan Moss.
Madison Vogel's single loaded the bases. A single from
Paige Maseda allowed James and Moss to score.
Â
Maseda went 2-for3 during play, while Vogel went 2-for-2.

The Panthers (22-25) added their first two runs off Kelly McLaughlin's home run in the second inning. In the third inning, Mikayla Lewin doubled to center to plate Cheyenne Nelson.

Rachel Hester (5-10) took the loss after pitching three innings, giving up five hits and three runs.

Samantha Guider (7-5) pitched four innings and was credited the win, giving up six hits and two runs.

In game one, the Saints lost 6-1.

Cassidy Crump highlighted the day with a home run in the seventh inning.

Jordan Sheets (7-12) pitched five innings before taking the loss. The freshman gave up eight hits and six runs.

Alex Hendrian (5-8) earned the win after tossing a complete game, giving up three hits and one run.
