SAINT AUGUSTINE –
Logan Tobias lead Flagler College with four goals in its Peach Belt Conference game against Lander University this afternoon. Despite a valiant effort the Saints fell to the Bearcats 13-8.
Flagler falls to 3-1 in PBC play and 5-9 overall. Lander moves to 4-0 in the PBC and 10-3 overall.
The Bearcats offense was led by Carter Wilcox and Nolan Oakey who scored four goals apiece. Goalie Nicholas Paige also stood out with 18 saves.
Although falling short in the end, the Saints had a strong first half.
Antanas Mikuzis scored his two goals of the game, one after the other, at the start of the first quarter. Later Tobias scored his first goal with 2:52 left in the first quarter and the score remained 3-all after the first 15 minutes.
The Saints managed to shine through on the faceoff with
Jake Griffin going 15-20 on faceoff wins. Goalie
Nate Lehr came through for the Saints as well with 15 saves.
The Saints will hit the road for their next game at The University of Alabama in Huntsville on April 22 at 12 p.m. CST.
