ST. AUGUSTINE – The No. 18 (ITA Division II Collegiate Tennis Rankings) Flagler College women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 win over Tusculum University in a non-conference match at the Flagler Tennis Center Thursday afternoon.
Flagler improved to 6-3 and won its fourth match in a row. Tusculum had its two-match win streak snapped and dropped to 5-4.
The Saints quickly secured the doubles point after
Addison Skye Breunich and
Charlotta Buss won 6-3 at No. 3.
Nadja Meier and
Eryka Kruk won at No. 2 doubles and the duo of
Luisa Hrda and
Dana Heimen made it a clean sweep for Flagler.
All of the singles matches were settled in straight sets with Hrda clinching the team match at No. 1 singles. The No. 6-ranked player in the country dominated Leonie Floeth 6-1 and 6-1. Meier, ranked No. 5 in the nation, won her 13
th consecutive singles match.
Flagler's trip to North Carolina this weekend has been postponed. The Saints are trying to reschedule a match at Wingate University. Flagler will host Washburn University on March 18 at 11 a.m. at the Flagler Tennis Center.
