ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- Three was the magic number. Flagler swept the Lees-McRae College in a double header Wednesday afternoon at Flagler Field after connecting on three three-run home runs from
Mackenzie Smith,
Trinity Fry and
Jordan Moss.

Flagler (9-10, 4-2) won 7-1 in the opener and 10-9 in the second game.

In game two, the Saints went into the fourth inning trailing 8-2. Fry and
Paige Maseda drew a walk, putting runners on first and second base. A single from
Abbey O'Connor to third base put the Saints in scoring position.
Cassidy Crump's three RBI double put the Saints within three at 8-5.

A single from
Madelyn Childs up the left side plated Crump to make it 8-6. A fielder's choice and a wild pitch put Smith at second. A single to the pitcher from
Regan Miller advanced Smith to third. Moss followed with a three RBI home run to left field take the lead at 9-8.

In the fifth inning, a single up the middle from Smith plated Crump to conclude the scoring for the game at 10-9.

Madelyn Wise took the win for the Saints after pitching 4 innings. The junior gave up nine hits, three runs and walked one batter. Wise induced five strikeouts, seven ground outs and one fly out.

Rachel Hester pitched two innings, giving up five hits and six runs. The sophomore had three strikeouts.

In game one, the Saints were first to get on the board in the second inning after Smith scored on a Lees-McRae (10-8) error. Flagler increased its lead to 4-0 in the third inning after Smith hit her fourth home run of the season to plate
Madison Vogel and
Abbey O'Connor. Smith went 3-for-3 during the game.

In the fifth inning, Fry hit her third home run of the season to left field, batting in Moss and
Alex Vitola.

Jordan Sheets earned the win (5-2) after pitching seven innings, giving up one run, seven hits and walked one batter. The freshman had four strikeouts and retired 13 batters on ground outs and three on fly outs.

Next, the Saints will travel to Americus, Georgia for a three-game series against Georgia Southwestern on March 11-12.
