ST. AUGUSTINE –
Lexie Morton and
Sydney Onega both came out of today's women's lacrosse game with hat tricks to lead No. 15 (IWLCA Division II Top 25) Flagler College to a 18-7 victory over Notre Dame College.
Flagler improves to 4-1 overall while the Notre Dame drops to 0-2.
Although the Saints ended up outscoring the Falcons, the game stayed close throughout the first half with the Falcons leading 3-2 by the end of the first quarter. However, the Falcons relinquished their lead as the Saints scored three goals in a row from Onega,
Carley Tepel, and
Jessica Wright to start the second quarter.
Kendal Johnson led the Falcons offensively with two goals. Falcons goalie Annika Duncan came out of the game with seven saves.
Nine different Saints scored in this evening's game. The Saints defense also shined through as
Jenn Seebach had four caused turnovers, while
Molly Sloan and Morton both collected four ground balls for the Saints.
The Saints will be back March 10 at 5 p.m. at home against Holy Family University.
