ST. AUGUSTINE –
Lexie Morton led No. 15 (IWLCA Division II Top 25) Flagler College in tonight's 18-9 victory over Holy Family University. Morton scored five goals for the Saints, while
Carley Tepel,
Jordan Green, and
Jessica Wright all scored hat tricks.
Flagler won its third game in a row to improve to 5-1. Holy Family dropped to 1-4.
Despite a close first quarter ending 3-3, the Saints were able to pull ahead, scoring nine goals in the second quarter, ending the first half leading 12-5.
The Tigers put up a valiant effort with Rianna Shields scoring four goals and goalie Emma Hurley making 11 saves.
The Saints were able to keep possession of the ball off the draw with
Carly LaFerriere and
Greta McGinnis coming up with four draw controls each. Flagler goalie
Lauren Ribadeneira had a stand out game making 10 saves.
Up next for the Saints is a home game against Newberry College on March 14 at 2 p.m. at the Flagler Lacrosse Field.
