Saints defeated by Nighthawks in PBC Play

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- Top-ranked (NFCA Division II Top 25) University of North Georgia swept Flagler College 12-0 and 13-0 in a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Flagler Field.
 
The Saints (12-19, 7-7) connected on four hits during the first game. 
 
Cassidy Crump singled to the shortstop in the first inning. Olivia Parker and Mackenzie Smith each added a single to left field in the second inning, Trinity Fry added the Saints' last hit with a single to right center in the second inning.
 
Jordan Sheets took the loss for the Saints after pitching seven innings, giving up 13 hits. The freshman walked one batter and induced six fly outs and 11 ground outs.
 
The Nighthawks (33-1, 14-0) scored three runs during the first inning off Jolie Lester, Madi Perry and Sophie Mooney. Mooney added a home run in the third inning to make it 4-0.
 
In the seventh inning, Gracie Mixson opened with a home run to right field to make it 5-0. A single from Mooney allowed Lester to score. Hannah Forehand followed with another single to plate Perry at 8-0. A Flagler error allowed Mooney to score. Aniston Wright added a single to drive home Forehand to make it 9-0. Olivia Sinquefield scored off Marycille Brumby's single. The Nighthawks added their last two runs off Sydney Balir and Mariah Wicker.
 
Kirsten Davis (9-1) secured the win for the Nighthawks after pitching six innings.
 
In game two, the Saints secured three hits.
 
In the first inning, Abbey O'Connor connected on a single through the left side. Parker followed with a single to left field. Jordan Moss added a single to the pitcher in the second inning.
 
Rachel Hester (5-6) was given the loss after one inning, where she gave up seven runs and seven hits.
 
Madelyn Wise pitched three innings, giving up three hits and six runs. The junior walked two batters and had six strikeouts.
 
The Nighthawks scored their first run off Lester in the first inning. In the second inning, Blair scored after a Flagler error. A home run from Mixson plated Wicker to make it 4-0. Mooney followed with a home run to plate Lester and Perry at 7-0. In the third inning, Blair scored after Mooney drew a walk. Forehand connected on a grand slam home run to plate Mooney, Perry, and Lester. Wright added another home run in the fifth inning to conclude the scoring.
 
Tybee Denton (10-0) secured the win after four innings.
 
The Saints will host the Nighthawks on Sunday, March 26 in the final game of the conference series.
