Flagler men move up to No. 15

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Flagler College men's tennis team is ranked No. 15 according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point, which were released Wednesday morning.

Flagler is currently 9-4 and posted two wins last week. The Saints defeated Jefferson University and Washburn University by the same 5-2 score.

There are seven PBC teams ranked in the top 50, along with Flagler. Columbus State University (5-1) is ranked No. 8. Lander University (9-1) follows at No. 11. The University of North Georgia (5-2) checks in at No. 20 while Augusta University (8-3) appears at No. 32. Georgia College & State University (6-3) and Young Harris College (7-4) are Nos. 42 and 44, respectively.

Saint Leo University (14-0) remains at the top of the ranking. The University of Texas at Tyler (11-1) moved into No. 2 while the University of Indianapolis (8-2) dropped one to No. 3. Barry University (9-2) and the University of West Alabama (9-3) complete the top five.


Nikita Tatyanin is ranked No. 24. He holds a 17-5 record this year, which includes a 9-3 mark this spring. Tatyanin is 3-2 against nationally ranked competition and he has won his last four singles matches.

Flagler opens Peach Belt Conference play this weekend as No. 32 Georgia College comes to the Flagler Tennis Center on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and No. 8 Columbus State is here on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
