ST. AUGUSTINE – No. 5 (ITA Division II Collegiate Tennis Rankings) Flagler College defeated No. 8 University of Central Oklahoma 4-1 in a consolation round match of the ITA Division II National Indoor Championship Saturday morning at the Ernest Grundy Tennis Center.
Flagler evened its record at 2-2 while Central Oklahoma dropped to 3-4.
The Bronchos secured the team point as they won two doubles matches with the third going unfinished.
The Saints turned things around quickly by winning the necessary four matches in singles, and all four were in straight sets. No. 13
Nadja Meier evened the team score with her win at No. 2.
Laura Jipescu, No. 6
Luisa Hrda and Eryka Kruck were the other victors for Flagler.
Flagler now faces the University of Indianapolis in the fifth-place match on Sunday at 11 a.m. Central.
