Madelyn Childs led the Saints with five RBI's in a 13-8 loss against Valdosta State University in game two of a doubleheader on Tuesday at Steel's Diamond at Blazer Park.

Childs went 2-for-3 during play. Â

In the first inning,
Abbey O'Connor drew a walk and advanced to second base on a wild pitch. A Blazer throwing error put
Cassidy Crump at first and O'Connor in scoring position. A sacrifice fly to center field from Childs allowed O'Connor to score, putting the Saints up 1-0.

The Saints (3-8) added two runs in the second inning to make it 3-1.
Paige Maseda made it to third base after a single to right field and advancing on a throw and a wild pitch. Maseda went 2-for-3 during the game. Â O'Connor drew a walk and stole second before Crump was walked. With the bases loaded, a single to center field from Childs plated both Maseda and O'Connor.

Flagler opened the fourth with a single to left field from
Trinity Fry. Â Maseda was hit by a pitch, advancing Fry to second. A double from Childs down the left line allowed Maseda and Fry to score.

Mackenzie Smith opened the fifth inning with a single to left field.
Gianna Amundsen entered to pinch run for Smith. Â
Regan Miller 's home run to center field, batting in Amundsen, and another homer to center field from Masada tied the game 8-8.

Madelyn Wise (0-4) took the loss for Flagler after she pitched 3.2 innings, giving up four hits, five runs, walked three batters and had four strikeouts.

Mallory Forrester pitched 1.2 innings, scattering two hits and giving up six runs. The freshman walked five batters and had one strikeout.

Jordan Sheets gave up three hits and two runs after tossing 0.2 of an inning.

The Blazers (7-2) took the lead 10-8 with a two-run homer to right field at the bottom of the fifth. Valdosta added their last three runs in the sixth inning with a three RBI home run to center field.

In game one, Flagler lost 9-0.

Rachel Hester pitched four innings and gave up 10 hits and nine runs. Hester walked three batters and had three strikeouts.

Valdosta added their first run in the first inning with a single to left field. In the second inning, a bunt to the pitcher and a single to center field plated two runners to make it 3-0. A three RBI home run to center field put the Blazers up 6-0. A single in the fourth to the shortstop in the fourth inning and a two RBI single to third base in the fifth closed out the game.

The Saints return to action at home with a three-game series against Georgia College. Flagler will host a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb.25 and a single game on Sunday, Feb.26.
