ST. AUGUSTINE – The No. 5 (ITA Division II Collegiate Tennis Rankings) Flagler College women's tennis team cruised past No. 23 Rollins College 7-0 in a non-conference match at the Flagler Tennis Center Thursday afternoon.
Flagler wins its season opener while Rollins falls to 1-2.
The Saints won all three doubles matches to win the team point. No. 6
Luisa Hrda and
Eryka Kruk edged Katie Groves and Polina Ligay 7-5 while No. 10
Dana Heimen and
Nadja Meier rolled to a 6-1 win over Maria McKay and Milla Falster.
Flagler continued to dominate in singles play as Hrda, Meier and Heimen all won in straight sets, and Heimen's win clinched the match. Kruk and
Charlotta Buss also won in straight sets while
Laura Jipescu went three sets against Erin Yaroshuk.
Up nest for the Saints is Nova Southeastern University on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Flagler Tennis Center.
