ST AUGUSTINE - The Flagler College men's lacrosse team earned their first win of the season against Palm Beach Atlantic University tonight,18-10. The Saints were led by
Logan Tobias who scored five goals as well as freshman
Trace McDonald with three goals and four assists.
Flagler is now 1-1 for the season leaving the Sailfish 0-1.
Antanas Mikuzis scored for the Saints breaking a 4-all tie in the second quarter. Later on, the Saints scored four unanswered goals to take command of the game with a 14-8 lead in the fourth quarter.
A total of 10 different Saints found the back of the net tonight in this high-scoring game.
Jake Griffin helped the Saints maintain possession of the ball, winning 19 out of the 25 face offs he took this game and picking 12 groundballs. Both
Nate Lehr and
Paxton Crowell stepped in goal for the Saints tonight saving six shots each garnering a total of 12 saves for the game.
The Sailfish were led offensively by Neil Calkin with three goals while their goalie Ben Lightsey had a standout performance making 15 saves.
Flagler will hit the road for their next matchup at the University of Tampa on Feb. 15 at 4 p.m.
