ST. AUGUSTINE-
Tyler Douglass scored three goals and had two assists as Flagler College fell short to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University 11-10 in tonight's mutual home opener at the Flagler Lacrosse Field.

Embry-Riddle pulled ahead by three in the first seven minutes of the game before Flagler's Auggie D'Ambosi scored the first goal of the evening, and the 2023 season, assisted by Douglass.

The Eagles quickly fired back when Marcus Needham scored their fourth goal of the night with only 6:16 left in the first quarter.

From there, the two teams went back and forth ending the first quarter 5-2, Embry-Riddle.
Â
Douglass, one of Flagler's captains, kicked off the second quarter with a goal assisted by fellow captain, Atanas Mikuzi, with 12:06 remaining in the first half of the game.

Soon after, Mikuzi scored the Saints fourth goal of the game,
Garrett McNulty added another, assisted by
Trace McDonald, to tie the score at 5-all.

Embry-Riddle's Coleman Jacobs finished off the first half with a goal to give the Eagles a 6-5 lead.

Mikuzi was second on the offensive leader board for the Saints, with two goals and an assist.
Â
Later on in the second half, McDonald,
Garrett Moore, and
Logan Tobias all scored their first goals of the season for Flagler.
Â
On the defensive end of tonight's game, freshman
Ori Imirie lead the Saints in caused turnovers and
Jake Griffin led the team in ground balls.
Â
Embry-Riddle's Andrew Ewlat had a total of eight groundballs as well as 12 face-off wins over the Saints.

Up next for the Saints will be an at home match up against Palm Beach Atlantic University on Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.
