WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Flagler College women's indoor track and field team made its season debut at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off meet Saturday at the JDL Fast Track.
Highlighting the day were a pair of third place finishes by Flagler athletes.
Maddi Hood finished in third place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.74. Her time ranks second in the region.
Taylor Stone finished in third place in the mile run with a time of 4:56.68, which is an NCAA Division II provisional mark. Her time is the best in the region and second nationally.
"This weekend served as a valuable experience," said head coach
Brian Beil. "It's a step toward our indoor championship in February where we aim to compete at the top of the Peach Belt Conference. For others, it was a first step towards qualifying for the national championship."
Aaliyah Jordan posted a time of 2:25.51 and finished in eighth place in the 800-meter run. That ranks fourth in the region.
The 4x400 relay team, comprised of Hood, Stone,
Eden Goddard, and
Hope Siner, finished in ninth place with a time of 4:21.63. Their time is fifth-best in the region.
Up next for the Saints is the RADD Sports Invitational, Jan. 19-20, at the Alachua County Sports Complex at Celebration Pointe.
