DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –
Dane Bertolina scored a season-high 21 points and she added eight rebounds and five assists to her line in Flagler College's 90-66 loss to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at the Bahama House Shootout Friday afternoon at the ICI Center.
Embry-Riddle remained undefeated at 5-0 while Flagler moves to 2-3. The Saints wrap up the tournament tomorrow at 6 p.m. against Florida Tech.
The Eagles opened the game with a 15-3 run and held a 24-6 lead after the first 10 minutes. They led 48-27 at the half and shot 52.9 percent (18-34) from the field. Embry-Riddle shot 56 percent (14-25) in the second half.
Jessica Dowdy scored a career-high 20 points for the Saints. She and Bertolina each sank five 3-pointers for Flagler.
Se'Lah Reddick added nine points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Mary Lengemann led the Eagles with 16 points while Madyson Jean-Louis and Kyra Haan each contributed 14 points. Keturah Balabyekkubo finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Embry-Riddle out-rebounded Flagler 40-25 and it had nine offensive rebounds that led to 21 second chance points.
